
We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused Leasing Consultant to market and lease a mixed portfolio of residential and commercial properties while providing an exceptional experience for prospective and existing tenants.
This role is well suited to an organized and motivated professional with strong sales, communication, and relationship-building skills who enjoys working with people, conducting property tours, supporting leasing negotiations, and helping prospective residential and commercial tenants find the right space.
The Leasing Consultant will work closely with the property management, maintenance, and operations teams to support leasing activity, maintain strong occupancy levels, and ensure properties are professionally presented and market-ready.
Respond to residential and commercial leasing inquiries, qualify prospective tenants, schedule and conduct property tours.
Present property features, amenities, rental rates, lease terms, deposits, building policies, and other applicable requirements.
Follow up with prospective tenants throughout the leasing process and convert qualified inquiries into completed applications and leases.
Prepare and process rental and lease applications, supporting documentation, and lease agreements in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.
Assist with residential and commercial lease negotiations within established guidelines.
Maintain accurate prospect, application, lease, and tenant records using property management and CRM systems.
Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, and other leasing-related activities with the property management and operations teams.
Assist with residential and commercial lease renewals, retention initiatives, notices, and related leasing activities.
Respond professionally to tenant questions and concerns and escalate issues to the appropriate member of the property management team when required.
Conduct regular checks of vacant residential units and commercial spaces to ensure they are clean, presentable, and ready for showings.
Support property marketing by maintaining accurate and appealing online listings, property information, and promotional materials.
Monitor local rental market conditions, comparable properties, rental rates, and leasing trends to support competitive pricing and leasing strategies.
Work collaboratively with property management, maintenance, operations, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure properties are properly presented and ready for occupancy.
Maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing residential and commercial tenants.
Support leasing, occupancy, retention, and customer-service objectives established by the property management team.
Prepare leasing reports and complete other administrative duties related to the leasing function as required.
2–4 years of experience in leasing, property management, real estate, sales, or a related field is preferred.
Experience with residential and/or commercial leasing is an asset; experience working across a mixed portfolio is considered an advantage.
Strong customer service, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Confident and professional approach to sales, prospect follow-up, property tours, and tenant relationships.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple prospects, properties, and leasing activities while meeting established deadlines.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with prospective and existing residential and commercial tenants.
Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with property management, maintenance, and operations teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, property management software, and online listing platforms.
Ability to handle confidential information professionally and maintain accurate records.
Working knowledge of residential and/or commercial leasing practices and applicable requirements.
Real estate or property management certification/licensing is an asset where applicable.
A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation may be required depending on the properties assigned.
