About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Building Maintenance Worker to support the day-to-day maintenance, safety, and upkeep of our client’s properties. The successful candidate will be hands-on, dependable, and capable of performing a variety of general maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks.

Compensation: $25 - $28 per hour depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of building systems, equipment, common areas, and facilities.

• Complete general repairs and maintenance, including minor plumbing, electrical, basic HVAC, drywall, painting, carpentry, and fixture repairs. 

• Perform preventative maintenance and address maintenance issues promptly.

• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot problems as required.

• Maintain clean, safe, and well-maintained common areas and building spaces.

• Assist with seasonal maintenance, including snow removal, grounds upkeep, and other outdoor tasks.

• Coordinate with contractors and service providers when specialized repairs are required.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.

• Monitor building equipment and report any safety hazards, deficiencies, or major repair requirements.

• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and applicable building standards.

• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, supplies, and maintenance materials.

• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field.

• Strong general repair and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical systems.

• Ability to use common hand and power tools safely and effectively.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe environment.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests.

• Physically capable of lifting, carrying, bending, climbing ladders, and performing general maintenance duties.

• Valid driver's licence is an asset.

• Relevant trade certification or technical training is an asset.
