
Overview
We're looking for a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our team and support a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties across Edmonton. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while gaining broad exposure to property operations, financial reporting, and the day-to-day financial management that drives portfolio success.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with monthly financial reporting across a portfolio of commercial properties.
Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
Support accounts payable and receivable, including rent tracking and collections.
Review and code invoices in line with budgets and approvals.
Maintain accurate tenant, lease, and financial records within the system.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare supporting schedules and internal reporting documentation.
Work closely with property management to ensure accurate financials.
Assist with audit preparation as required.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
CPA designation in progress or completed, preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in property, real estate, or commercial accounting.
Experience with month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, CAM and operating cost reconciliations, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable.
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals.
Experience with Yardi or similar systems.
Proficient in Excel.
