Overview

We're looking for a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our team and support a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties across Edmonton. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while gaining broad exposure to property operations, financial reporting, and the day-to-day financial management that drives portfolio success.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial reporting across a portfolio of commercial properties.

• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Support accounts payable and receivable, including rent tracking and collections.

• Review and code invoices in line with budgets and approvals.

• Maintain accurate tenant, lease, and financial records within the system.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Support month-end and year-end close processes.

• Prepare supporting schedules and internal reporting documentation.

• Work closely with property management to ensure accurate financials.

• Assist with audit preparation as required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

• CPA designation in progress or completed, preferred.

• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in property, real estate, or commercial accounting.

• Experience with month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, CAM and operating cost reconciliations, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable.

• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals.

• Experience with Yardi or similar systems.

• Proficient in Excel.
