Overview

We are currently working with a growing commercial real estate firm seeking a Property Accountant to support a mixed portfolio of office, retail, and industrial assets across Calgary.

This is a hands-on role within a collaborative, fast-paced environment where you will gain direct exposure to property operations, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting functions. Ideal for someone early in their career who is looking to build within real estate and take on increasing responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial reporting across a portfolio of commercial properties

• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations

• Support accounts payable and receivable, including rent tracking and collections

• Review and code invoices in line with budgets and approvals

• Maintain accurate tenant, lease, and financial records within the system

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

• Support month-end and year-end close processes

• Prepare supporting schedules and internal reporting documentation

• Work closely with property management to ensure accurate financials

• Assist with audit preparation as required

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• CPA designation in progress or completed preferred

• 1–3 years of accounting experience (real estate exposure is an asset)

• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals

• Experience with Yardi or similar systems is an asset

• Proficient in Excel
