
Property Accountant – Full-Time

Overview
We are currently working with a growing commercial real estate firm seeking a Property Accountant to support a mixed portfolio of office, retail, and industrial assets across Calgary.
This is a hands-on role within a collaborative, fast-paced environment where you will gain direct exposure to property operations, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting functions. Ideal for someone early in their career who is looking to build within real estate and take on increasing responsibility over time.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with monthly financial reporting across a portfolio of commercial properties
Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Support accounts payable and receivable, including rent tracking and collections
Review and code invoices in line with budgets and approvals
Maintain accurate tenant, lease, and financial records within the system
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare supporting schedules and internal reporting documentation
Work closely with property management to ensure accurate financials
Assist with audit preparation as required
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA designation in progress or completed preferred
1–3 years of accounting experience (real estate exposure is an asset)
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
Experience with Yardi or similar systems is an asset
Proficient in Excel
